Below and on my website at inourwords.org/free-workshops are descriptions to online Zoom workshops that I am offering for free to anyone interested in learning more about how social movements function and how to engage in civil disobedience in the struggle for a social issue.
Social Movement Workshop
This 2-hour Zoom workshop exposes participants to the Movement Action Plan (MAP) by Bill Moyer with JoAnn McAllister, Mary Lou Finley, and Steven Soifer, a theory of social change resource for anyone participating in any social movement at any level. MAP breaks down the various phases and components of a social movement and goes into detail as to how movements can potentially function more effectively.

Civil Disobedience Workshop
This 3-hour Zoom workshop demystifies the process of engaging in arrest-risk civil disobedience. Important terminology is covered as participants are walked through all stages of planning successful arrest-risk action. In the end, participants are able to plan effective direct actions that may or may not include arrest-risk scenarios. So, this is a training that is great for everyone, whether they ever plan on risking arrest for a cause or not.
